Ole Andreas is from the lower northern part of norway. He moved to Hamar 7 years ago to study interactive media at the University College in Hamar. In 2011 he started Krillbite Studio together with eight of his classmates. They were brought together by a concept created in school, that would become the award-winning and successful horror game “Among the Sleep”.
Tell us something about your past experiences with game development:
I was a co-founder and the CEO in Krillbite for 4 years, from 2011 – 2014. I have worked as producer and programmer on the two titles, Among the Sleep & The Plan. I love attending game jams and trying out new stuff, so throughout the years I’ve done more prototypes and jam games than I remember. It’s always great fun!
What is your involvement with HGC?
I was one of the 3 co-founders of HGC, together with Catharina Due Bøhler & Andreas Fuglesang. We started the collective to make collaboration and sharing an even bigger part of our culture than it was. I’ve been in the board since the start, and currently I’m the board chairman. Our mission is to make Hamar the best place to be a game developer!
What is your favorite game?
Hard to say… OoT, Majoras Mask, Journey, Brothers: A tale of two sons, so many to mention.
How long have you been involved in the game development industry?
For the last 7 years. Wow, time flies!
Can you share one of your favorite moments working with game development?
Oh my, there are too many! From hanging out with other lovely game devs at jams and conferences, to celebrating an achievement with the team!
What is your quest (future plans)?
To have fun, while I work on stuff I’m passionate about and that creates value in other lives!
What do you like most about the videogame medium?
It’s ability to involve a user in ways other mediums never will be able to, through interaction.
